The Wonder Behind Wonder Water
Did you know that 79% of women in the US identify as having damaged hair? I am one of them. This is the reason why my hair is up right now. I am here to give you a solution that is quick, easy, inexpensive and that you can do from the comfort of your home. If you’re interested, keep watching.
Hi, my name is Debbie Savage and welcome to my channel. Today we are talking about hair—and I love talking about hair. We will discuss how you can get silkier, shinier, and healthier hair in just eight seconds. L’Oreal Paris conducted a study and found that 24% of women are unsatisfied with the existing hair treatments available to rectify damaged hair. L’Oreal Paris sent me their 8-Second Wonder Water. I have not tried the product yet, so I am doing this live with you and I’m really excited.

The timing is perfect because I am struggling with managing my hair and being a busy mother of three while working from home and wanting to look great and fabulous all the time. I express myself with my hair, and I feel most beautiful when my hair is healthy and looks manageable and styled. I know a lot of that has to do with a really great texture and the texture needs to be smooth. This is what makes hair look polished. This is precisely why I’m excited about this 8-Second Wonder Water because its technology claims you will have shinier, silkier, healthier hair in eight seconds.
New Technology
Traditional hair treatments are usually creamy, right? And all that cream often results in weighing down your hair. Before that didn’t matter to me because my hair was so damaged that I was happy with the end result. But when you have a lot of hair like me, having that weight made it uncomfortable and hard to put it in a ponytail or a bun. L’Oreal’s new product uses a different technology where the active ingredients in the formula individually target each strand of your hair and only repairs where needed. This means your whole hair isn’t coated and heavy because that special, targeted approach from the Lamellar activates in the formula and only goes where needed. This makes the treatment more efficient and more targeted—just eight seconds for silkier, shinier, healthier hair.
How To Use
After you shampoo, apply one dose, about 20 ml, to your wet hair. You can use it up to two to three times a week. If you have fine but medium-textured hair, you just need one dose. If you have thick to curly-textured hair, which is what I have, it says two to three. If you have long hair, you need more than one dose. Here’s my hair: I have thick to curly hair and it is long. According to the chart, I think four doses will be sufficient for my hair.
In the instructions, there are three simple steps. Step one, massage the product into wet, shampooed hair. Step two, massage it in for just eight seconds. Third step, rinse it out, avoiding your eyes, and then you follow with your usual conditioning routine. I think that covers all the ins and outs of the L’Oreal Paris Elvive 8-Second Wonder Water. I am really excited. I feel confident in how to use it. I am going to head into the shower and do exactly as I have told you and I will come back to you with the results.
The Results
Hi, I just got out of the shower. I feel great and my hair felt great while I was applying it. I ended up using 60 ml, so about three applications, which was totally on target for the texture of my hair and the length of my hair. What was really cool is it has these guide lines right here that help you measure the appropriate doses. I’m also really glad that there’s this easy nozzle spout so it targets the application as you put it on. The solution is actually quite watery so make sure to not squeeze it too hard. I would suggest squeezing with a light to medium pressure to distribute it all over your hair.
My hair smells so good and right after I applied it, I could tell immediately that my hair was getting smooth and so soft. I don’t know how, but there’s just something that you can feel instantly, especially if you have dried, textured, thick hair like mine. With hair like mine, you know you’ve got a product that is working correctly when you can literally feel how soft and silky it is immediately.
I’m going to turn around to show you what my hair looks like. This is what my hair looks like. You can see it looks really hydrated and moisturized. It feels really soft. I will let it air dry in the meantime and then we’ll catch up from there. I’ve let my hair air dry for a bit and I’m still really happy with the results. I have been told that you can further enhance the results of the treatment by blow-drying your hair.

FAQ
I won’t do that in this video, but I just wanted to cover a couple of their FAQs for those of you that are interested in finding out if 8-Second Wonder Water is right for you. The first question is whether it is suitable for color-treated hair? Yes, I have had my hair colored before, and it has been treated and approved for color-treated hair. So, if you guys have your hair highlighted or colored, you can still use this product. The next question is, can I use it with a conditioner?
Yes, you can use it with a conditioner. I chose to do so after my treatment. I actually put in a little hair mask afterwards and continued shaving my legs. It’s up to you what your hair care routine is. Next question: can I use it after I shampoo? Yes, you can. And I think we discussed that earlier. It actually is best applied when your hair is wet. Some people said, “I tried Wonder Water and felt a warming sensation, is this normal?” For me, I did not feel any warming sensation. I mean, the sensation I did feel was that my hair was starting to feel really soft. I did notice that quite dramatically. But they, L’Oreal Paris, just wants you to know that if you do feel a warm sensation that you do not be worried and it’s a sign the formula is working since it starts activating on contact with water. Don’t worry if that is your case.
The Verdict
In fact, I am here to report that I am really, really happy about this. I love it, and it was fun to do this experiment with you guys. I hope that you find it useful, and again, for my hair texture, you can use it up to two to three times a week on wet hair, for silkier, shiner, healthier hair. I’ve always been a fan of L’Oreal products. If you have tried this product, leave a comment below. If you have any questions, leave a comment below. Thank you so much for watching. Thank you so much Mariya!
Too much alcohol. I feel like it is not safe for the hairs.
How do you apply in shower? Do you start at the ends and work it to the roots or apply directly on the roots and work towards the ends? Does it matter? I just bought this product and have thick wavy hair that is down to the middle of my back, excited to try it. How do you know exactly how much to use?
Hi Heather. Yes, you apply in the shower using the nozzle tip to apply the solution to hair. Avoid scalp and eyes, apply to the length of your hair to target the solution. This is what I found helpful. 2-3 doses for thick to curly textured hair, add 1 more dose if you have long hair. I hope this helps. Please, let me know. xo
I have been using Wonder Water for about a year. I have fine hair. Wonder Water makes it feel and look thicker and healthier. Yes it does slightly warm, which is quite OK!
Try it you will not be disappointed.
I have just used L’Oréal wonder water for the first time and although I’m not blown away by the results, my hair is slightly softer I suppose but I’m not convinced for the price. I was wondering, now my hair is dry, do you think I could rub a small bit of the wonder water in my hair and use as a leave-in conditioner?
Thanks
