Bitesize History | Americans celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July every year. We think of July 4, 1776, as a day that symbolizes the Declaration of Independence and the emergence of the United States of America as an independent nation (reference here). Yay! Go USA!!!
Our church hosted our annual Pancake Breakfast at one of our community parks! It is one of our favorite ways to celebrate this awesome holiday! The kids loaded up their plates with hot pancakes drizzled with syrup and juicy bacon! They needed to load up on calories for the energizing Egg Toss game!
Chloe and Elijah did well for their age division in the Egg Toss competition and were able to throw the egg to one another at least 50 feet apart until the final toss! Elijah threw the uncooked egg across the grass to Chloe and it landed on her arm with a big splat!
I told Chloe the egg white would make a very good lotion for her but she didn’t think it was a novel idea!
We also loved attending church as a family to express our gratitude for this great country and honor those who fought and fell so we could be free. And, most importantly expressing our love to our Heavenly Father for this beautiful county we live in and the freedoms we enjoy!
Yes, we are called The Savages for a reason! Love those crazy monkeys! Also, check out our complete glass wall and custom steel handrails for our stairs!!! It is a definite beauty. I am so also grateful for a hard-working and handy husband who built the stairs that you see with this two bare hands!
Mommy & Son Style | I am in love with my little man! He makes me incredibly happy and makes me feel so loved and cherished! I also love the stylish white layering essential from B*LETS. They have so many cute laying t-shirts to make any outfit stylish while providing more coverage where needed. The white ‘Tik Tak’ layering shirt is only $21.95!
The City of Laguna Niguel’s Fireworks show is one of the best! We reserve a spot on the hill that morning with our blanket to later enjoy a bird’s eye view of the spectacular fireworks show from the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. This year was honestly one of the best fireworks show! We invited our close friends who will be our neighbors soon to join in on the fun! And boy, was it “fun” the sprinklers went off at the end and we ALL got soaking wet!!! Hope you guys all had a Happy 4th of July too!
P.S. I received a lot of compliments on the vintage ‘Americana’ inspired t-shirt that I scored at a thrift shop! It is one of those seasonal pieces you must buy to create the perfect holiday outfit. Well, I know it might be hard to trace one down that looks exactly like mine; but, I scoured my favorite shop Nordstrom (love their free delivery and free returns) and hand-picked some 4th of July pieces you will surely love! In fact, I bought a few myself today and most are on SALE at discount prices!
