If you follow me on Instagram or on my blog, you‘ll know that gut health is important to me. This past April, I took my first Food and Drink Intolerance Test with YorkTest Laboratories. It offered me so much knowledge about my food triggers that I wanted my entire family to get tested, and they did. Knowledge is power! The results of my original test revealed that I had a high number (40) of REACTION & BORDERLINE ingredients in food and drink. This, of course, alarmed me. Thankfully, I had nutritional support from YorkTest Laboratories and their helpful and knowledgeable Nutritional Therapist. A combination of nutritional support consultation and literature (Results Guidebook) armed me with the right information to change my diet and improve my health.

Diet, as you know, plays a big part in your health. I didn’t know that even “healthy” foods I was ingesting, such as spinach, almonds, and apples were causing me pain, bloat, gas, and indigestion. Once I was able to identify these ingredients in my foods, I was able to take action and heal my gut. It took a few months to clear my system by eliminating the food triggers. Then I slowly introduced one food at a time, and I left one week between that food and the next. If there were no symptoms after a few days, then I would slowly add it into my diet to maintain an increased tolerance. After this testing period, most of my gut problems subsided, and this was a huge boost of confidence for me, resulting in a happier way of life. No, more loathing my body and belly because that ain’t healthy?! 🙂
I wasn’t hiding behind baggy clothes, and my lower back didn’t hurt from all of the outward protrusion of my belly! I am serious! Feeling bloated is awful, and I remember the sad feeling of eating and seeing my stomach bloat almost immediately. It was depressing for me. I am so happy YorkTest Laboratories helped me to identify my food triggers. I healed myself from the inside out. It takes some time guys, but it is worth it!

What happened when I took a Food Intolerance Test
This past June, I took the food intolerance test again and was amazed to discover that instead of having (40) REACTION & BORDERLINE ingredients, I now only have (5)! I have a strong reaction to yeast and cow’s milk and a borderline reaction to gluten, corn, and tuna! This has changed my life for the better. Now I can finally fit into a pair of jeans! No more looking like I am pregnant when I am clearly not and resorting to wearing Muu Muus dresses and MC Hammer pants. Or worst — hiding in my house because the bloat and discomfort were unbearable and embarrassing.

So if you are struggling with bloat and not that kind that normally graces us women at that time of the month, I highly encourage you to take the Food and Drink Intolerance Test by YorkTest Laboratories. I am so glad I finally figured out what foods I’m sensitive to and can fit into jeans again, especially now that it is getting cold in Orange County! Cheers to no-bloat days!
