The colder temperatures excite me because I get to sport my favorite jacket styles. In my last post I shared tips on how to style a military inspired jacket. Today, let’s talk about another style I love – drape jackets! This style of jacket is tailored to perfection. Let me tell you why. The cascading collar minimizes any tummy issues and the open front style reveals your underlying shirt or blouse in the most elegant way.
The waterfall collar also elongates the torso and the long sleeves minimizes any under arm flab. Ha Ha…I told you it is the perfect jacket style because it is so forgiving. Another plus, you can wear this dressed up or down. A drape jacket looks great with jeans and a tee shirt for an effortlessly casual cool look! And, will look glamorous when paired with a pencil skirt with heels or booties.
The embellished jeans I am wearing are from Venus. I absolutely love them because it makes an ordinary pair of jeans uber chic! Check out the beaded details along the front pockets and the strategically distressed patches gives it an edgy street appeal I love. Also, the jeans have cotton/poly/spandex mix that makes it comfortable with the right amount of snug.
My Steve Madden block heel with gold tone accents are a favorite of mine. It is nice to have your standby black booties but I like to wear items with unexpected details. It takes my outfit to a whole another level and is quite comfortable to wear. I tied in the brown suede color of my drape jacket and black booties with my leopard print haircalf crossbody bag from Talbots. I am a girl who loves animal print. You have got to at least have one animal print accessory in your wardrobe!
