Last winter, I wrote a post on Why You Should Wear Red for Christmas. It was less than a style post but more like an online therapy sesh for me. I was surprised from the many comments of support I received. Before my vulnerability was made public, I believed that I wasn’t worthy to wear red. I forced myself to buy a bright red sweater and take photos of it for my blog. A self discovery was made that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. I discovered that I looked good in red and it wasn’t a color I needed to shy away from.
For the longest time, I felt the same way about the color burgundy too. I felt like it wasn’t a color that I could pull off either! However, when I spotted this burgundy vegan pencil skirt with an asymmetrical front slit, I knew I needed to push myself again and try it. Color has such a strong impact on our psyche, right!?! I discovered this berry-shade, wine-inspired color is a fun and on-trend addition to any fall or winter look!
Again, my forced experimentation worked in my favor and I found that I really love the way burgundy looks on my skin-tone. Am I the only person who has complexes with color? LOL! Are there any colors that you feel uncomfortable wearing but would really like to try? If so, I challenge you to try my experiment and share with me your results!

First off, you are a goddess of beauty. Your style, your hair and just your attitude is commendable. I do love the color burgundy, it’s got depth and character. I do have some in my wardrobe but it’s probably time for it to come out this winter. I loved the pictures!

Awww Debbie! So glad you got over your discomfort and rocked red and burgundy! I absolutely LOVE colour and welcome it. Remember – it’s just a colour. Try not to tie to much emotion to it!!

I agree, love the colour on you! As for me, I don’t like wearing green. I think it makes me look too yellow LOL!
I totally have complexes with color. Yellow and orange specifically and now that I have very bright hair I find it even harder. But it’s good to push out of our comfort zones and this skirt is beautiful!

The burgundy is a beautiful color and it looks great on you! I feel like I shy away from yellows and oranges unless I have a good tan because I feel like they really clash with my complexion so I understand your color complexes!
This color is so stunning on you!
You are killing it in that burgundy dress and I think it’s perfect for the season! Personally, I shy away from wearing browns because I feel like it clashes with my skintone but I’m going to go ahead and give it a shot!
That skirt is amazing!

I am sooooo glad this color is trending, and you look fabulous in it! I don’t have this color represented in my wardrobe; you’ve inspired me to keep a lookout for it in all the after-Christmas sales going on right now. Thanks for being brave and wearing it so well. 🙂
