I love living in Orange County for so many reasons: the beach, great weather, and incredible restaurants to dine at! One of these amazing restaurants in Orange County is Brussels Bistro in Laguna Beach. It’s Memorial Day weekend and my local friends I invite you to visit this delicious place. For those, planning on visiting Laguna Beach make sure to keep this restaurant on your radar. You will not be disappointed!

Taste the Flavors of Belgium

We attend Brussels Bistro to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was so wonderful, warm, and receptive. Albert and I have never had Belgium food before and was so excited to experience Brussel’s Best! Established in 2004, Brussels Bistro brings delicious Belgium flavors to Southern California. It is a small and very popular place so it is advised to make reservations. It is a lovely place in a perfect setting being Laguna Beach with beautiful mouth-watering food.

My Recommendations

From appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts there are plenty of menu options to satisfy your taste buds and appetite. Here are my recommendations from Brussels Bistros you must try because they are exceptional and have made a lasting impression. And, I think you will love them too! Their Small Croquette Degustation variety is delicious. A small round of chopped goodness fried in breadcrumbs. The sampling of meat, sea shrimp, and cheese was amazing and perfect to share too (if you can).

You must order a pot of mussels! I am a seafood freak so I was so excited to try this. It has been a long time since I have had mussels. Brussels Bistros’ Les Moules are shipped by air several times a week for the restaurant because quality matters! They work directly with Penn Cove farmers in Washington State to deliver the best bold, briny and blue. I am a fan of curry and it was an easy decision to order my Les Moules in a curry creamy sauce!  Soooo good I dipped my bread in it! It comes to your table hot so be careful, after I waited a few seconds…I couldn’t wait any further, I ate my first one and feel in love! In fact, I want another pot of Les Moules now, this time a large one!

Authentic Belgian Experience

Lastly, make sure to order from the Brussel’s Best menu. They have entrees that are slow cooked,  homemade from “grandma’s recipes”. I absolutely loved their Cream Chicken and Mushroom Stew over Puff Pastry. I love pastries and was in absolutely culinary heaven when the puff just melted on my tongue. The creamy chicken and mushroom stew was hearty and flavorful. What makes it even more spectacular is that it comes with a portion of their famous Les Frites! Their homemade fries are double cooked. I am now a fan of Belgian Fries! Make sure to order each of their homemade sauces. My favorites are: barbecue, curry ketchup and truffle mayonnaise.

If you love beer, Brussels Bistros have a large variety of tap! Albert and I don’t drink. However, we noticed the service and energy of their bar is lively and friendly.
