THE STORY BEHIND THE JINGLE
When my first daughter Emi was born I wanted her to wear something beautiful enough that I would wear myself and I noticed there was a lack of elegant, high quality pieces for children. This kind of jewelry is a special part of my culture since I received my first set of Jingle Bell Anklets at my Cambodian baby blessing and each of my kids received traditional Cambodian jewelry pieces from their grandmother.
According to Cambodian tradition, families welcome new babies with silver anklets adorned with small bells. The ringing of these bells are believed to ward off bad spirits while also allowing parents to keep an ear on their child as they play.
This jewelry is special to me because it allows my children to connect to their Cambodian heritage. I started this business to honor my culture and especially my mother and courageous grandparents who came to America seeking peace and a better life. I love having this opportunity to share this tradition with other families by celebrating the birth of a child with my Jingle Bell Anklets.
