I am excited to announce that I will be serving as Beauty Editor for Uploader! For those who may not know, Uploader is a monthly digital and hard copy magazine that features YouTubers, bloggers, podcasters, writers, actors, actresses, TikTok artists and creative people of all kinds. It has been a pleasure to write for Uploader as their beauty columnist this past year. Writing inspiring articles on makeup, skincare, body care, cosmetics and hair care for my Beauty Scope column has been so rewarding. I just loved it!
It was a honor to be hand-picked by Cheryl De Marco, Uploader’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, to be a contributing writer. I never thought I would ever be a professional writer! This is honestly a dream come true. I have never considered myself a solid writer, as I struggled with reading, writing and speaking English for a long time; I still work at it.
But I am here to say that God has a bigger plan for me and friends — each and every one of us.
An exciting opportunity
Exactly a year ago, Cheryl presented me with the opportunity to be a beauty columnist for her new magazine. We met for the first time in Burbank, California in a hotel lobby, and I was so excited to meet her in person! I had no idea what was in store. I came with the goal to meet the amazing Cheryl in person and get my own copy of the Uploader magazine in which I was featured. I was already on cloud nine. However, I left with more than that.
My leap of faith
Cheryl recognized my passion for the beauty industry and saw something in me that I did not. She told me about how she started Uploader, how she plans to grow her new magazine and wanted to know if I wanted to be a part of it as a contributing writer. The idea of being a writer both frightened and exhilarated me. However, I knew it was important for me to say yes. This meant more than a commitment to Uploader; this was also an affirmation to myself that my voice matters, and that it is needed.
To have Cheryl, who barely knew me, extend the offer after featuring me in her magazine, honestly it was more than serendipitous. Like I mentioned before, everything was in total alignment.
Overcoming challenges to achieve by dream
It has been a year of ups and downs. Learning how to juggle my family life, personal health, the pandemic, my blog business, and being a beauty columnist for Uploader, not to mention the recent unexpected passing of my only sibling — my sweet little brother — has been overwhelming, painful and lonely. However, through these growing pains I truly understand the depths of my many strengths and values that I hold so dear: my love for God, my family, and my passions. Seeing my work as a content creator in this big wide world, my voice and unique beauty matters. I can make an impact inspiring women (and men) to learn and enjoy how to take care of themselves, and have fun with makeup and beauty practices. This is honestly a dream come true — I am an editor!
Appreciation for a new start
Cheryl, I would like to thank you for including me in your journey. You have shared with me your goals, direction and purpose for Uploader + your new TV series and that was so inspiring. I applaud you for your tenacity, ambition, strength, innovation, and most of all, your heart. I support you 100% and have no doubt you will excel in this role. Uploader is making waves and will continue to expand and inspire other creative people. I am thrilled to be a part of the Uploader family, joining Cheryl and three other fabulous women who will also be serving as editors (see below for an introduction). Please join me in celebrating Uploader and its four new editors!
