We are all human. It is so easy to fall off the bandwagon and get off track. Remember, those nutrition and exercise goals you set in January? Please, don’t give up on them. I know with summer in full swing — the vacations, family in town, and kids at home (whatever your situation is) it is hard to stay focus and committed to your goals. I am here to offer you motivation and invite you to revisit your goals. Make them a priority again. It is never to late. Here are 3 ways to get back on track:
1. KEEP POSITIVE THOUGHTS
Life can be hard at times. You can feel like you are pulled in so many directions. If you slip up, remember that you are human. Practice, self compassion. Keep positive thoughts alive about yourself. So, that one bite of chocolate cake lead you to eat the entire slice…or more. Let it go and remember that tomorrow is a new day. A new day to try again and practice self-mastery.
2. START SMALL
Do what is doable to set yourself up for success. If you managed to go sugar-free for 30 days but fell off the bandwagon from too many end-of-the-school year parties; don’t put stress on yourself to complete it again perfectly! Change the goal into small benchmark, like going sugar-free for one day. Then, recommit the next day to go sugar-free again. Each effort is good enough. Keep taking those baby steps and pretty soon you will be making great progress.
3. STRIVE FOR PROGRESS
Strive for progress not perfection. Life is a journey. Your health and wellness journey is no different. There will be twist and turns and valleys and peaks. Expecting perfection out of yourself will only create disappointment and pain. Let go of perfection and seek for progress. Celebrate each and every step you take whether big or small. Tomorrow is another chance to reach your goals. Choosing to recommit each day is what is important.

Perfect tips! I’m one of those who hasn’t done much this summer. But we were gone for two weeks and do a lot of hiking so I actually lost almost 5 pounds on vacation! Our next is my annual family reunion at the beach. We snack a lot so I’m going to have to restrain myself to not gain those pounds right back!
I tend to start joining challenges when I feel like I’m getting off track. It really helps me stay motivated. Right now I’m on a challenge to complete 60 classes between may long and september long. I think it should be more than doable!
such great tips! staying positive is the one that’s most important to me! your outfit is super cute too!
Love the tank! So cute and looks so comfy.
That’s me with the yo-yo baby weight…5 lbs up 5 lbs down…eventually I will be back to pre-baby….concentrating on progress is a good tips!!!
I’ve always been struggling to get back on track. Your advice helps me out a lot. Above all, I’d better stay positive!

These are great and helpful tips on how to get back on track! I’ve been kind of bad for quite some time and need to get back on track with my workout routines and watching what I snack on.
Such great tips! I fell of my regular workout routine recently, but slowly making progress to get back to it again!
Girl YES! I just got back into it back in Feb and I’m so so glad I was able to start it slow to really move my time at the gym to useful and not send me into a false start. I’m at six days a week right now ever since!!!
Couldn’t agree more! I’m starting back in the gym tomorrow at Orange Theory and I can’t wait. Also – MVMT is my favorite watch company!!
These are all such great tips! I used to exercise almost everyday but wasn’t seeing the results I wanted and I realized that I wasn’t supplementing my exercise with a proper diet! It’s been hard staying positive but it’s so important to do so!
Such great tips! It’s hard especially in the summer, but feels so good when you get back into the groove!
